Aidan Wing on small-scale queen rearing
When
4 May 2022
6:30 PM
Location
St. John Armenian Church, 275 Olympia Way
Aidan, who specializes in this art, will share his journey to becoming a beekeeper and queen breeder and discuss his methodology and philosophy of breeding queens locally. His breeding program is designed to improve honey bee stock by selecting for mite-resistance, resilience, gentleness and productivity. In 2018, Aidan received a grant through Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education to research and share this breeding program and he has presented it to conferences and clubs ever since. He believes beekeeping can play a key role in a much bigger land-based regenerative agriculture solution to environmental degradation.
