How to prevent -- or capture -- swarms
When
1 Mar 2023
6:30 PM
Location
St. John Armenian Church, 275 Olympia Way, SF
Swarming is a natural behavior for bees, but that doesn't mean beekeepers always have to put up with it! In this fast-paced session, master beekeeper Major Branzel shows how to prevent swarms when you don't want them -- or capture them when you do. Among his topics: Why colonies swarm and how to eliminate it altogether; how to control where swarms land so you don’t irritate your neighbors; how to get swarm calls and collect swarms; plus, a demo of gadgets and gizmos that make swarm control easier.
