How to prep your bees for the winter
When
5 Oct 2022
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Location
St. John's Armenian Church, 275 Olympia Way, SF
As the days get shorter, you may be wondering what, if anything, you should be doing to help your hive(s) through the winter. Don't be fooled by SF's mild climate. The answer is, lots! As SFBA Board member and instructor Lon Ramlan explains, there is plenty you need to do NOW to raise the odds that your colony makes it through the months ahead -- even though SF doesn't get freezing temps and snow like other parts of the country. Among the issues: mite control, pathogens, nutrition, right-sizing, climate control and monitoring. Lon will also discuss what to watch for now and in the months ahead. Hopefully, this session will help ensure your hive remains healthy and thriving next spring.
